Delusions of Parasitosis - Who Should Treat it? Psychiatrist or Dermatologist.
J Ayub Med Coll Abottabad Jan ;11(2):20-0.

We report a study of 22 patients with delusions of parasitosis (l4 women and 8 men). The mean age at onset of the disease was 53 nears. The mean duration of their disease was about 9 months. None of the subjects had any biochemical abnormality, a few, had skin lesions of variable intensity. We were not able to help these patients very much as they did not have any dermatological problem and most of them did not want to be referred to psychiatrist. In our opinion such patients can be treated better by psychiatrists.
