Are street vendors spreading Salmonella Typhi in Curry foods?.
Pak J Gastroenterol Jan ;12(1-2):0-.

To assess the chances of spread of salmonella typhi infection by street vendor`s curry foods, a total 100 food samples from twenty street vendors around Lahore General Hospital were cultured for S. Typhi. Of all cultures no growth of S. Typhi obtained. This study indicates that street vendors who sell their food items while these are kept heated all the time are safer for consumption by people. The stress to improve hygiene further still cannot be over estimated. Though these samples were found to be free of salmonella typhi, these could still be infected with other food microorganisms, which could cause disease in human beings.
