OBJECTIVE: i) Find out the frequency of chemical composition in Urolithiasis. ii) Ascertain their relationship with UTI. DESIGN: Descriptive Observational Study. PLACE OF STUDY: Peoples Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah. DURATION: March 1999 to June, 2004. MATERIAL & METHODS: 75 patients having Urolithiasis underwent open surgery were studied. Procedural modes and diagnostic codes were designed comprehensively with acceptable standards. RESULTS: Calcium containing stones were the most frequent (73.33%). 30 patients (40%) were associated with UTI. E.coli (2I.33%) was the most commonly identified pathogen. CONCLUSION: Calcium containing stones as the major portion in Urolithiasis was least associated with UTI, but all triple phosphate (STRUVITE) stones were in association.
