Acoording to British hypertension Guidelines.

STEP-1
Start ACE if less than 55 years of age .or Start Calcium channel blocker or diuretic if more than 55 years of age.

STEP-2
ACE+ CALCIUM or ACE + DIURETICS

STEP-3
ACE + CALCIUM + DIURETICS

STEP-4
ADD ALPHA BLOCKET
OR BETA BLOCKER OR FURTHER DIURETICS .


( CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER ARE DRUG OF CHOICE FOR BLACK AFRICAN PATIENTS REGARDLESS OF AGE )
