International Clinical Trials' Day
Each year, the International Clinical Trials' Day is celebrated around the world on or near the 20th of May in order to celebrate the day that James Lind, a Britsih navy surgeon, started his famous scurvy trial on the 20th of May 1747. International Clinical Trials' Day was initiated by the European Clinical Research Infrastructers Newton in 2005. The aim of this annual event is to raise awareness amongst patients and the public about the processes and challenges of clinical research, and to promote discussion and debate among trial participants, practiotioners and researchers of clinical trials.
