PakMediNet Discussion Forum : Medical Education outside Pakistan : Vacancies for Pakistani doctors in UK (emergency medicine and A&E)
An email that i recieved
Dear All
There is currently shortage of doctors in UK due to newly introduced visa regulations. These new regulations have made overseas (non EU) doctors' UK entry very difficult (close to impossible)
There are many hospitals who are trying to facilitate the recruitment especially to A&E (accident and emergency) departments and emergency medicine. In addition to appointing the doctors they will also aid in getting the right visa (Tier 2 or 5) and travel arrangement and accommodation. College of Physicians and Surgeons is also looking to support these placements as they are introducing the new speciality of emergency medicine in CPSP. According to the hospital medical staffing, training structure is in place but still needs valuation and approval by the college (CPSP).
There are various A&E jobs advertised for Pakistani doctors. The criteria for the application are
1. MBBS or equivalent.
2. GMC registrable qualification. (e.g. PLAB, MRCS, FCPS etc).
3. IELTS score of 7.0 (GMC requirement)
4. Pervious experience in emergency department and ALS / ATLS will be beneficial. (although not essential)
Have a look at this website for more information. Job descriptions are also available (I think).
