PakMediNet Discussion Forum : Biostatistics : t-test and x2
I am working on a small article and need help in calculation of following problem:
I want to compare two groups having different variables (numericals). What I studied uptil now is that t-test or x2 should be applied ? Since I dont have any idea about it in detail, I need help.
Group - A .......... Group B
60 ................... 40
Mean Age:
45 years .......... 60 years
Sex (M/F)
25/25 .............. 30/20
No. of positive Tests:
50 .............. 10
Good Drug Control
5 ................ 95
How would I compare that Group B is better than group A ?

There are numerous biostatistical methods to compare qualitative and quatitative variables. In my perosnal opinion, it is not possible for anyone to suggest an appropriate method of statistical comparison on the basis of quite incomplete information. You may write the full details of the findings of your research project. I hope someone can help you if you present your case (observed values) in detailed and clear-cut manner. I wish you a great success!

Dear Dr. Yasir:
Your data is incomplete and no statistical comment can be made. Please send the complete data set and we will see what can be done.
